The Municipal Search Box, located at the top left, enables you to search by entering information such as the record's Unique ID, Owner, Street Name, or Address. For guidance on how to search, refer to the “What and How to Search” section. The Lasso Tool allows you to draw a selection area to capture all parcels within, while the Select Tool, typically enabled by default, enables direct parcel selection to view detailed information. To clear selected parcels or graphics without refreshing the page, use the Clear Button. If a full reset is needed, refresh your browser.
On the Left Panel, information dynamically adjusts based on the operation in progress. The Search Results section displays a property image, essential information, and supplemental links. When a user selects a search result, a Detail View provides additional links, in-depth property details, and access to the Abutters tool, which reveals intersecting properties within a designated buffer area.
The Layer List displays active layers that can be toggled on or off. Use the Filter Tool to streamline data, ensuring accurate extraction and minimizing errors. When lists are displayed or the Abutters tool is activated, the Mailing tab will appear, allowing you to export a mailing list in PDF or CSV format.
The Right Panel functions as the Options Menu. Within it, the Legend provides easy interpretation of map symbols and data, while the Aerial Toggle allows you to switch between different aerial imagery layers for varied perspectives. Bookmarks give quick access to frequently used locations, and you can integrate custom data overlays through the Add REST Service option. For further assistance, the Help Section offers resources to navigate and use the platform. If you encounter technical issues, use the Report an Issue feature to submit feedback or request support.
Map Site Crashes or Does Not Work
As web applications grow more demanding, we recommend using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome with specific settings to optimize performance across all websites, including our GIS application.

What and How to Search
As you begin typing in the search box, a list of matching options will appear.
Summary of Video
You can select from the list, click the Search button, or press Enter to initiate your search. Once initiated, search results will display in the Left Panel, replacing the Welcome Message. The map will automatically zoom and highlight all records that meet your criteria, and results can be sorted by Location or Owner name.
If you interact with the map or search results, you will always have the option to return to the original search results, restoring the initial view. To perform a new search, simply enter different criteria, and each new search will update the results accordingly. If you wish to clear the current results and return to the Welcome Message, click the Clear button, which will keep the map at its current extent.
Please Note: This site provides access to all Assessor Property records, though some may not have a corresponding GIS Parcel Polygon. When this occurs, you won’t see a magnifying glass icon next to the search result. However, you can still click on the record to access the available property information and related links, even if there is no mapped polygon associated with it.
Access Property Details and Related Links
If you zoom directly into the map without using the search box, parcel boundaries will become visible, allowing you to click on individual parcels to add them to the Search Results panel. Each selected parcel displays essential information, including Property ID, Owner, Location, and Property Type, along with related links that open in a new browser tab.
Summary of Video
You can click parcels on the map on and off at any time to update the search results list, allowing you to create a custom selection. Once finalized, this list can be exported as Mailing Labels or a CSV file for further use.
When using the Search Box, results will appear in the Left Panel, displaying parcels that match your initial search criteria. Parcels in this list can be removed to refine results; however, additional parcels cannot be added, as this would not align with the original search criteria.
Clicking on a search result in the Left Panel updates the panel to display detailed property information and interactive links. The corresponding parcel is also highlighted in green on the map to indicate it is in detail view. The Abutters Tool is accessible in this area and further explained in the “Generate an Abutter or Mailing Address List” section.
Generate an Abutter or Mailing Address List
In the Left Panel, beneath the Filter and Layer buttons, an additional Mailing button will appear whenever you have search results or use the Abutter tool. This feature provides two export options to suit different needs.
Summary of Video
The Mailing Label List option formats labels according to the Avery 5160 template, providing 30 labels per sheet for easy printing. Alternatively, the CSV File option generates a file that can be used for mail merge operations, allowing for customized mailing lists.
When viewing property details, the Abutter Tool becomes accessible, with a default search radius of 100 feet. This radius can be adjusted as needed, including the option to enter a negative distance for custom configurations. This flexibility helps accommodate different spatial requirements for mailing list creation.
If an Abutters operation captures part of a condominium complex, the results will automatically include all individual units within the selected complexes. This ensures comprehensive coverage of all associated units, providing complete and accurate data for mailing list generation.
Home, Zoom, and Clear Buttons
The Right Panel includes essential navigation tools, such as the Home, Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Clear buttons, designed to streamline your map interactions and improve navigation.
Summary of Video
The Home button resets the map view to its initial extent, displaying all parcels on the map for a comprehensive view. Use this button to quickly return to the starting view from any location on the map.
The Zoom In (+) and Zoom Out (-) buttons allow you to adjust the map view for a closer look at specific areas or a broader perspective of the entire region. These controls help you focus on details or get a wide-angle view as needed.
The Clear button removes any selected parcels or graphics from the map without refreshing the page, which keeps your current map extent intact. For a complete reset, you can refresh your browser to clear all map interactions.
Use the Measure Distance and Area Tools
In the Right Panel, within a purple box, you'll find two measurement tools for Area and Length. When activated, the selected tool is highlighted with a green outline, indicating it is ready for use. To deactivate, simply click the tool again, which will also remove any displayed graphics.
Summary of Video
Each measurement tool captures a single measurement at a time. To take a new measurement, just reactivate the tool. For measuring paths or areas, begin by activating the tool, then click your starting point on the map. Continue clicking to set additional nodes along your path or area.
To complete the measurement, double-click on the final point. The measurement dynamically updates with each node until you finish, allowing you to adjust as needed. Units of measurement can be modified either before or after completing the measurement for maximum flexibility.
Use the Filter and Layers Tool
In the Left Panel, users can interact with the Filter tool or toggle map layers on and off for enhanced visualization and customization of data.
Summary of Video
To view the Layer list, click on the Layers option to open a window displaying all available layers. Each category can be expanded to view individual layers within, and visibility settings can be adjusted as preferred. Most layers come with preset transparency settings, which provide optimal visibility. For more information on layer symbology, refer to the Legend in the Right Options Menu.
The Filter Tool allows users to refine map data based on specific criteria. Begin by selecting an initial variable, which will automatically update all other filter options to align with this choice. As additional criteria are selected, options in the remaining fields will further narrow, offering progressively refined results with each choice. Once all desired criteria are selected, click Submit to display the filtered results on the map.
Legends and Basemaps
On the right side of the site, the Options Menu allows users to interact with both the Legend and Basemap options for enhanced map customization and clarity.
Summary of Video
The Legend displays items when their corresponding layers are active. Some layers include multiple symbology classifications, resulting in a more extensive legend display to accommodate all variations. Please note that GIS data provided as a Tiled Service, such as Tax Map annotations or labels, will not appear in the legend, even though these items remain visible on the map itself.
The Basemaps / Aerials-Ortho option allows users to toggle between different years of imagery, displaying data strictly within the town boundary plus a 500-foot buffer from the town’s edge. As more data layers become available, they will be added to provide richer historical and spatial context for the map, allowing for a comprehensive view over time.
Use the Lasso Tool
The Municipal Search Bar includes the Lasso Tool, allowing users to select parcels within an irregularly shaped area by drawing a freehand boundary around them. When the tool is active, a green outline appears around it, indicating it’s ready for use.
Summary of Video
To use the tool, simply click and drag around parcels on the map; any highlighted parcels will automatically appear in the Search Results area. This feature allows users to create a selection of parcels based on custom boundaries, which is particularly useful for focused data analysis or generating a mailing list.
After selecting parcels, users can further refine their results by adding or removing parcels directly on the map. This flexibility ensures that the final selection is tailored to specific needs, enabling a more precise data set or targeted mailing list.
